Right, Alex Sarll, who knows about these things, says that people might not know that

SOUL MOLE ON SATURDAY IS AT A NEW VENUE

It is now at

The OAK BAR, Stoke Newington Green Lanes

It is walkable from Highbury and Islington tube, mebbe fifteen minutes, but your best bet is a 341 or 73 bus from Angel Islington. The 341 takes you basically outside, and the 73 takes you to Newington Green, which is two minutes walk. If you're coming from Sarf London, and I'd love you to, then get the 21 from London Bridge or further up the line.

Here's a map - MAP

The line up this time is dr_f_dellamorte bringing the smoothness, angelv bringing the poppin' and meintheground dropping everything that needs dropping until everyone starts doing the same.

Hello folks.

Just a quick one to let you know that unfortunately Matt Crosby can no longer make it tonight so we've done a bit of switching around and now the fantastic Steve Hall has been added to the bill. So come along tonight and see "the pretty one from We Are Klang" doing some excellent stand up without the other two.

Don't forget we also have Wil Hodgson, Andrew O'Neill and two fantastic new acts - John Dorney & George Ryegold. And it's in a pub! With booze! Vaguely near a really good chip shop! What more could you want?

Hello lovely folk of London.

This month features the following mighty fine acts:

Jon Richardson (6music with Russell Howard, Chortle Best Newcomer 2008)
Dan Antopolski (Hyperdrive, Comedy Cuts)
Adrian Poynton ("Astounding moments of genius…stunning" - The Guardian)
and MC Robin Ince (Book Club/Latitude Festival, Radio4's Personality Test, BBC7's Serious About Comedy)

Entry is £7 or £5 concessions (and there's a secret password for cheap entry at http://www.myspace.com/clockworkcomedy). Clockwork is at 96-98 Pentonville Road in Islington, and the nearest tube station is Angel (or Kings Cross with a wee bit of a walk).

If you can some along, it'd be lovely to have you there. Flyer under the cut for anyone who's interested!

you know how I always ask on here whether people want to join me to see certain bands etc and I end up almost never going because I am lazy or don't want to go alone etc. well, this time it's a bit different because I have seen this band before and I can assure you that your mind will be blown away, they are absolutely amazing live and you will dance even if you never dance!

Holy Fuck will be playing at Madame JoJos in Soho (Brewer St) on the 26th, the club night is called White Heat and it is only 6 Pounds (!!), I will probably order through ticketweb beforehand. Music is on between 8 and 10:30.

If any of you can travel that far,(only a few minutes from Walthamstow central) we'd be very happy to see you, we do like to perform to an audience.

The Magic Road theatre group is mainly adults with learning difficulties who will be supported by people from 2 other singing classes. They've all worked very hard and deserve lots of support.

Hello smallcrowd, I have a spare ticket to see up-and-coming band Los Campesinos at the Scala tonight. It costs £10 including all booking fees etc. Support comes from Malajube. You can find out all about them at http://www.loscampesinos.com/ or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Campesinos! but all you need to know is that they're ace, and that they have cow bells, glockenspiels, Casiotone keyboards and clever witty lyrics.

The event is free and is open to everyone starts 7:30pm.

The show includes nearly all the arts and humanities classes, from guitar, salsa, singing, drama etc etc.

There's been a lot of hard work put into these pieces so any support would be most appreciated.

Hello there lovely people, here i am again pimping poptimism positively (and apologies for any x-posting tha tmay occur). But this time i haf 2 (two) evenings to interest you in, both at The Union Tavern, Kings Cross Road.

Friday 8th December
“IT’S CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!” as Noddy Holder once put it, and although we’re a little early we’ll be holding the first ever Poptimism Christmas Party on 8th December. With special guests Jinglebell Joey Muck of Do Dirt fame and Merry Meg along with the usual Elves we hope to make up for the lack of our very own jolly chap with a big beard. We’re sure it’ll be a cracker though (i’m sorry)!

Entry is free, dancing hours are 7-12(ish).

and also

NEW YEARS EVE SPECIAL!
Spend New Years Eve with all yr favourite poptimists, at a lovely pub relatively near to an array of transport options (and opposite a holiday inn if you don't want to travel!). we're still working on the detail of the evening, but we're pretty certain we won't be charging, we should be on 'til a reasonable time (certainly past the bongs), and we might even be in the downstairs bit!

We play:
Winifred Atwell, Justin Timberlake, Girls Aloud, Nelly Furtado, Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Daara J, Andrew WK, Renegade Soundwave, AC/DC, Adam Ant, Annie, Fleetwood Mac, Max Bygraves, Cansei De Ser Sexy, Carter De Ser USM, Busted, N-Trance, Paris Hilton, Loto, Big Fun, Christina Milian, Christina Aguilera, Cristina, The First Ten Seconds Of Babylon Zoo’s Spaceman, Kris Kross, Bus Stop, Kelis, Sisters of Mercy, Sabrina, Seeed, Snow, Perez Prez Prado, Basement Jaxx, Gary Jules, T Rex, The Knife, Marit Larsen, Aaliyah, DuJour, Britney Spears, Spank Rock, Shimura Curves, Rex The Dog, Scooter, Alcazar, Pet Shop Boys, shonky bootlegs, Eurobosh, and maybe even a bit of indie.

I'm putting on a performance on 17th November. Using a custom made cello-like instrument whose strings are attached to flesh hooks pierced into my back, my partner and I play a duet. The tension I put on the strings by pulling changes the pitch of the notes she plays.

POPTIMISM - Friday 10th November 2006, Upstairs at The Union Tavern, Kings Cross Road.

“Say I’m Your Number One,” sang Princess who was neither a Princess nor achieved a number one. Which means she won’t get played at the next POPTIMISM. Friday 10th will see us return to the lovely Union Tavern (neighbours notwithstanding) and this time we’ll be saying goodbye to Tom (aka DJ Cockfarmer) for a couple of months as fatherhood beckons. And to celebrate this: Tom’s favourite previous baby: CLUB POPULAR. Number Ones ALL NIGHT. The spinning wheel of decades. If it didn’t reach the top, it isn’t in the box.

Entry is FREE, dancing hours are 7-11.30(ish).

Hello hello.

My name's Rikk, and I'm looking to nothing on this earth is going to stop me moving to London in a few months time. I'm currently in Reading, and looking to foster social doings in a Londony direction to ease the transition.
